Illinois
Core Customers: Retail & Food Service
According to the United States Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Statistics Service (USDA-NASS), as of February 2017, Illinois had 72,200 farms. Illinois farmland covers nearly 27 million acres — about 75 percent of the state’s total land area. The large number of farms, coupled with the diversity of commodities produced, makes it difficult to describe a typical operation. However, statistics provide some indication about what it means to farm in Illinois.

Buy Illinois: Let’s encourage every Illinois household to dedicate $10 of their existing weekly budget to the purchase of Illinois products. If each of the 4.7 million Illinois households dedicates just $10 per week to buy Illinois Products, more than $47 million would be generated for the Illinois economy in one week! This will provide a tremendous boost to local Illinois companies — many of which are owned by your friends and neighbors.
